Advancement in scalp grafts.

Hair transplantation has become the most frequent operation performed on male patients because the results are very gratifying. We have been using the square scalp grafts for more than 10 years. They are an important technical advancement over the round punch grafts because they have 25% more hair than round grafts with the same diameter. The donor site is sutured and leaves only a lineal scar. In this way, grafts can be taken from the same place several times. The grafts are manipulated under magnification to minimize damage. The operation is performed under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis.
