Abstract

Transmembrane protein 205 (TMEM205) is aberrantly expressed in various tumors and is closely associated with cisplatin (DDP) resistance. However, its role in tumor progression and drug resistance in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) remains unclear. This study systematically investigates the regulatory function of TMEM205 in DDP-resistant TNBC and explores the underlying molecular mechanisms through a series of in vitro and in vivo experiments. Ours results demonstrate that TMEM205 promotes biological functions in TNBC cells by activating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, which subsequently induces tumor-associated macrophage (TAM)/M2 polarization, thereby promoting DDP resistance. These findings suggest that TMEM205 may serve as a potential therapeutic target for managing DDP-resistant TNBC, offering novel strategies and insights for the treatment of TNBC.
