Abstract

Postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF), as one of the most severe complications following pancreatic tumor surgery, is a major cause of poor postoperative prognosis and even early mortality in patients. Postoperative complications it triggers, such as intra-abdominal abscess and life-threatening hemorrhage, severely affect patients' prognosis and quality of life. Establishing a scientific, rigorous, and clinically practical prediction model for POPF holds significant guiding value for precise perioperative interventions. This article systematically reviews the research progress on risk factors and prediction models of POPF, discusses the limitations of existing models, and proposes future research directions to provide further guidance for clinical practice.
