As described by Hamra, the concept of deep face lift differs from the double face lift with SMAS in that it raises "en bloc" all of the elements which contribute to ageing of the face. As this is largely achieved in a virtually avascular plane, the postoperative course is considerably accelerated and it provides a solution for the nasolabial fold and the malar pouch.
