Liposuction with Sharp Cannula to Improve Dorsocervical Fat Pad: Anatomical Basis, Surgical Technique, and Aesthetic Outcomes.
Abstract
Dorsocervical fat pad (DCFP) refers to an area of fat accumulation at the back of the neck. It not only affects aesthetic appearance but brings health problems. Anatomically, it is caused either by thickening of the deep adipose tissue or dorsocervical lipoma. Liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure that reduces fat accumulation by removing excess fat tissue. Here we introduce liposuction technique using sharp cannula to improve DCFP. This technique was employed on 50 patients, and 89.1% of patients reported satisfaction with postoperative appearance. The incidence of adverse events was low. Liposuction using sharp cannulas was proven to be a safe, effective, and reproducible method for treating different types of DCFP.Level of Evidence IV This journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article.
