【연구 목적】 수정 광범위 유방절제술(modified radical mastectomy) 후 인플레타블 프로스테시스(inflatable prosthesis)를 이용한 유방 재건술의 임상적 결과와 합병증 발생률을 평가하여 해당 기법의 안전성과 미용적 효용성을 규명하는 데 목적이 있었다.

Abstract
Breast reconstruction was carried out in 38 patients after modified radical mastectomy, using a saline-filled inflatable prosthesis placed in a submuscular pocket. In 79 per cent the reconstructed breast had normal texture without complications. One patient was dissatisfied with the cosmetic result. Marked capsular contraction occurred in two cases (6 per cent) and late deflation in five (14 per cent).
