Abstract
A rare congenital anomaly of the face has been encountered and reported: lateral nasal proboscis. It is characterized by a trunk-like tube arising from an eyelid and is coupled with hypoplasia of the nose, abnormal orbit and maxilla, and ophthalmic anomalies. The pathogenesis and treatment of this disorder are discussed and the original case report is quoted and illustrated.
