[CONCLUSION] Laparoscopic pylorus-preserving gastrectomy demonstrated high safety and efficacy in the treatment of early gastric cancer with minimal complications. However, further improvement of results requires optimization of surgical technique, standardization of reconstructive stage and research of long-term outcomes.
[OBJECTIVE] To evaluate the efficacy and safety of laparoscopic pylorus-preserving gastrectomy (LPG).

Abstract 한글 요약
[OBJECTIVE] To evaluate the efficacy and safety of laparoscopic pylorus-preserving gastrectomy (LPG).
[MATERIAL AND METHODS] A prospective observational study was devoted to efficacy and safety of LPG in patients with early gastric cancer. We analyzed the results after the first 14 surgeries. Intraoperative characteristics, incidence and severity of postoperative complications, as well as histological data were estimated.
[RESULTS] Patients with early cancer of the middle third of the stomach underwent surgery. No serious complications, including anastomotic leakage, were registered. Minor complications occurred in 14% of patients (gastrostasis with effective therapy). Morphological analysis revealed gross total resection in all cases (R0). Mean number of resected lymph nodes was 18.
