Abstract 한글 요약
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Despite the benefits of early detection, participation in CRC screening remains below 40% in Iran. Understanding the beliefs about screening is crucial. This study aimed to translate the Colorectal Cancer Screening Belief Scale (CRCSBS) into Persian and assess its psychometric properties. In a methodological study, 400 individuals at average or high risk for CRC were selected from three centers in Mashhad, Iran. The CRCSBS was translated into Persian with the original author's permission. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were conducted to evaluate face, content, and construct validity. The Persian version showed strong validity and reliability. Confirmatory factor analysis supported a six-factor structure explaining 50.4% of the variance. Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's omega were above .7 for all subscales. The Persian CRCSBS is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing CRC screening beliefs among the Iranian population.
